Our latest victory against illness happened the night before last.
Makenzie woke up in the middle of the night with a very croup-like cough. This isn't the first time we have heard this type of coughing from our kids. We are no strangers to croup, and we know how difficult it can be to get rid of. Usually, we have to turn on a hot shower and let the steam do all the work to get the coughing to stop, but that takes a lot of time and often they wake up. Then we're up for hours.
This time, we just grabbed our essential oils book, Modern Essentials, and looked up the remedy for coughing. Amy applied Breathe, Melaleuca, Frankincense, and On Guard to the bottom of Makenzie's feet. She also rubbed a couple drops of Breathe on her chest, and a drop of On Guard in her bottle. The coughing subsided quickly, and she slept soundly the rest of the night.
The next morning, we applied a few drops of the same oils again and by lunchtime, she was back to normal. We love these oils, 'cause they work so well.
